The association Nuevo Futuro is born in 1968 to realize the dream and idea of Carmen Herrero Garralda. Its aim: to protect abandoned or family less children.

The project was aiming to be an alternative to foster homes but also to change and improve the take in of children by the State Administrations. Indeed, Nuevo Futuro is committed in:

1. The struggle for the reform and the promulgation of new child welfare laws, in particular the adoption reform.

2. The creation of foster homes that will take in family less children and teens, of both sex, every ages, races and religions.

These two purposes have been reached, and the association has foster homes in Spain but also in Peru, Croatia, Colombia and Portugal.

Facing the actual social demand, the asociation Nuevo Futuro wants to create new centres in order to take in children from four to twelve, who, after school and during the holidays, are home alone or in the street, while their parents are working.

In these centres, each child will receive extra teaching, environmental health and behavior classes as well as leisure activities and free time.
